The primary focus of JLC Inspections is safety within your
home. For this reason, we use only the most current technology
and implement the most up-to-date procedures when performing
your inspection.
Following is a list of procedures that are performed
during an inspection:
The main emphasis of an inspection is visual. Most importantly,
identifying defects in the structure of the home. Infrastructure,
walls, floors, ceilings, roof framing, proper installation,
determination and any visible foundational problems are all
areas that are investigated.
Grounds areas that are examined include driveways, walkways,
patios and porches, decking and stairs, external electrical,
main water service and pressure, fencing and wall conditions,
as well as proper grading.
Exterior examination includes a physical inspection of the
condition of such items as paint, doors and windows, chimneys
and main gas service.
Interior examination includes walls, ceilings, floors, windows,
doors, fireplaces, electrical, plumbing, tubs, showers, sink
and cabinetry.
Electrical items including the main panel, sub panels, wire
types and sizes (insuring proper usage), breakers and fuses
all checked.
Roof items checked are types of materials, skylights, flashings,
gutters, down spouts and chimneys.
Garages are checked for door operation, auto opener and safety
reverse, hardware and springs, fire walls and doors, electrical,
plumbing and slab.
Main plumbing evaluation is made of both hot and cold water
lines, drainage, venting, gas, all fixtures and fittings and
laundry hookups.
Heating and cooling equipment, filters, ducting, registers,
electrical and fuel supply and thermostats are checked. Water
heaters are checked for proper operation and any potential
problems.
Built-in appliances such as water heaters, disposals, stoves,
dishwashers and mechanical vents are investigated.
Pool and spa structures are inspected, as well as filtration
systems, electrical supplies, fencing, diving boards and slides
(optional).
