Buying a home is one of the largest investments you will
make during your lifetime. Your choice of a Home Inspector
can be just as important as the home you choose to buy. This
decision must be made with as much information as possible.
For this reason, over 95% of all homes purchased in America
today have Home Inspections. Here are a few questions you
may want to ask yourself when selecting a company such as
JLC Inspections and C.M.I. Canine Mold Investigations to perform
your home inspection:
Is my inspector knowledgeable and experienced enough
to find all existing defects?
With JLC Inspections the answer is YES. Jack is the owner
and primary inspector for JLC Inspections and C.M.I. During
the past 30 years, he has gained a very broad knowledge of
the construction industry. He is a graduate of the American
Home Inspectors Training Institute (AHIT). AHIT is one of
two schools licensed by the state of California as an accredited
home inspection training institution. Jack also holds an active
General Contractors license.
Jack is also one of the few building inspectors that is Certified
in Mold Investigations and Testing procedures. During a normal
inspection Jack makes it a practice to look for those Red
Flags of mold that most inspectors are not qualified to comment
on. Jack is also one of the very few Mold Investigators in
the country that owns a dog trained and certified in mold
detection to help locate areas of hidden mold. “Mold
dog inspections are used only at the request of the client.”
I want someone that really cares about doing a good
job. How do I find that person?
At JLC Inspections, customer service and safety within the
home are our greatest concerns. It is very important that
you completely understand everything you need to know about
your new home. This is why we encourage you to be present
during the inspection and to accompany us as the inspection
takes place. Once your inspection has been completed, we will
take the time to go over each item and answer any questions
you may have.
Having a safe home is very important to me. What
should I expect from an inspection?
The primary focus of JLC Inspections is safety within your
home. For this reason, we use only the most current technology
and implement the most up-to-date procedures when performing
your inspection. JLC Inspections raises the bar on Inspections
by taking that extra step to insure the safety of your home.
Potential fire hazards, health issues and all safety related
concerns are at the top of our inspection list. Gas leaks
are another huge concerns. More that 35% of the homes we have
inspected have had some type of gas leak. Consequently, all
gas connections are routinely checked and testing done in
areas that may cause CO2 and carbon monoxide problems. All
inspectors do not perform these services!
How am I informed about the results if I am unable
to be present during my inspection?
JLC Inspections provides each of our clients with an extremely
comprehensive report. Each area and every room in your home
are detailed in an easy to read format. At the end of the
report, a summary page allows the details to be viewed at
a glance. Addition- ally, we encourage our clients to call
with any questions or concerns they may have. We are here
to help.
Do you take pictures of my home that I may share
with family and friends?
Once again, JLC Inspections raises the bar on customer service.
We are the only Inspection Company that offers web-posted
pictures of your new home on our website. This special service
allows you to share the excitement of your new home with family
or friends that may live out of the area.
